God’s will is for His kids to practice and speak words that bring life. And He promises that those words will also bring great reward.
Proverbs 12:14 (NIV)
“From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things, and the work of their hands brings them reward.”
Essentially this verse is saying, “Our words will determine our actions and our actions will determine our future.”
There's a war waged for your words and the enemy would love to have your tongue.
James 3:9-10 (NLT)
Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God.
And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!
God wants us to win the war of our words. We can conquer evil with our words. We can see destiny unfold with our words.
We can even heal the broken-hearted with our very own words.
So let me ask you these questions: What do you say about yourself? Do you speak words of life? Or words that bring you down? Words that heal or words that hurt?
Did you know that when you speak well about yourself, you are speaking well about Jesus. We are created in the very image of God. So I guess, if I tear me down, then I tear Him down. But if I build me up, then I build Him up.
Let me say it this way:
If He is worthy...Then you are worthy!
If He is righteous...Then you are righteous!
And if He is loved..well...Then you are loved!
Speak well of yourself today. God sure speaks well of you.
